Dad allow us to bring out all his collection .. and let us have our fill.. How cool.. haha... Drown with red wine, volka, bercardi... U name it.. i was dead drunk... it's not as rowdy compare to the past... but i had fun drinking with my parents ... I enjoy the time i spend with them.. which i hardly do... No puking.. Office Politics???

Dear Diary,

Office Politics??

Not in all companies...but Face it.. 80% of the office has got office politics... big or small.. well.. I was kinda worried when i was given an assignment to work in TOSHIBA. A well established electronic company. A little fear creeped into me.. bring shiver down my spine when my frenz tell me tales about how scary office politics can be especially in a big company like Toshiba. Nonetheless, I decided to take my chance and take up this assignment. I thought, this is a good chance, if i perform well, I might be offered a permanent job in TOSHIBA. The thought brings me excitement more than fear.

On the first day of work, I took a bus down. Toshiba is located exactly opposite St Andrew Junior College at Alexandra road where i used to study during my college days. I was early for work hence I sneak in to my Ex-JC and have a quick tour around. Everything still remains very much the same.

The Art Centre

Cafeteria

My favourite place- the campus Field, I love the SAINTS word on the audience seats... I can still recall running on the track with my best fren Ailian during lunch time when everyone else are having their lunch. All the sweet memories of the times i spend in SA floated back in pieces like a Jig saw...the teachers, the frenz, the lessons, the chapel, the prayer everymorning, the school song.

I miss IS14 peeps... expecially pple like MAthew, istill remember how he wld give me a pad on my head like a little doggie and stroke me to sleep during our breaks, the wen Kang the super tall guy... (1.98m) yes i'm not joking.. then Charles the joker... then Elisa the very pretty MGS babe; Tan Kailing, the gal with the same name as me but she's so much prettier.. there are just so many more... I miss then all..

The School Song... The melody & words still rings fresh in my mind as i walked from corner to corner...

Gee.. the rugby boys remains me of someone too.. haha..

Enough of side track, anyway I went to report for work.. everything went on smoothly. One day passed after another... I realised it's either the fact that office politics are not something that scary or that there isn't even any in TOSHIBA! I believe it's the latter. The people are fabulous. No airs, no attitude.. everyone worked like one big family helping each other. All the staff extended their helping hand despite their busy schedule and pardon all my mistakes made. I had a wonderful time in Toshiba. Who says that BIG companies will have office politics?? I found an exeption! If you Toshiba pple happen to read this, THANKS! I really enjoyed working in TOSHIBA, thanks for making this a wonderful learning experience.

But so what exactly is office politics and how can we deal with it?

Imagine one fine morning, you enter your office to find some of your fellow collegues and employees giving you the cold shoulder. The office manager is snapping at his secretary and no one wants to touch the coffeemaker.

Welcome to the world of office politics.

Word has spread around that you prefer butter to margarine, or that you write with your left hand. That you drink decaff instead of espresso. The boss looks at you funny cause he heard you don't like football. Thus begins the making of political allies and enemies in the office. Rumours, gossip and petty peeves. Backbiting, work load dumping and complaining to the boss. Seems silly? You bet. Petty? Of course. Down right childish? Unmistakeably. But a reality that many have to deal with every day in work or for those still schooling, in school too... in your class... in your CCA clubs... it happens everywhere..

So how exactly do you deal with the upcoming huge waves attemping to gouble you up... Slide on it... Running the office gauntlet without someone wanting to stab you in the back with a pencil is not an easy thing to do. People will always have prejudices both big and small. Arguing, verbal abuse and plotting work sabotage are more serious issues. But small grievances left unchecked can lead to more serious problems down the road. Yes Office politics... That's how scary it's suppose to be..

So, how does one deal with frustrated, grumpy, angry and resentful co-workers? Kill them with kindness. It really does work. Have you ever tried to stay angry with someone who has done something nice for you? Did you ever rant and rave at a face with a friendly smile? Not likely. It is very difficult to do.

How often have you heard yourself say, "If I hear just one word of complaint I will blow my stack." Or, "Just one more comment about my work and I am going to let them have it!" We often find ourselves waiting to be pushed one more notch. But when that expected nudge becomes a kind word, or a pat on the back instead, it defuses people's anger and diffuses stressful tensions.

It's hard to be angry with people who are nice to you. No matter who you are, Christian or non-Christian, it's very difficult to be rude to someone who is pleasant. The biggest hurdle is swallowing our pride and making the first move. This is the most difficult obstacle to overcome. But with God's help you can do it.

Most petty grievances come from people who don't really know us enough and judge us by what they see or hear from others. But when they have a personal encounter with us it can change all pre-conceived notions. When that happens you will also see a noticeable improvement in your work environment.

Hostilities will cease, backbiting will give way to cooperation and strangers even if not friends, will become acquaintances. So how does one go about being kind to people who are angry with them? First, make a point to bump into them alone. Maybe at the water cooler, coffeepot, lounge or washroom. Make a point of starting a conversation with them. Offer to pour them a cup of coffee, pass them the sugar, or hand them a napkin etc.

Start with the little things then work your way up to bigger things. Bring in a bag of candies to share with everyone in your department. Offer to help with a small matter. There are all kinds of ways and opportunities to change people's opinions of you.

When the political games come into play don't take sides that will undermine authority. If the boss is deciding on an issue that affects everyone and someone else thinks that the boss has no business doing it, don't take sides until you know the facts.

And even then, unless it directly affects you and your work let the boss handle it. Don't try to undermine their authority by siding with the complainers. Even if the complaints are justified. You must weigh the matter carefully and decide if it is worth defending or not. If it is, always take the matter up directly with your superior.

If you have a grievance then tell the boss what it is, don't go crying behind their back to other workers. That only adds fuel to the already smoldering fire. Dragging more people into it is only going to make matters worse. It will eventually get back to the boss and you will have damaged your standing in their eyes.

When you do approach a superior directly, don't just blurt out a complaint. Use tact and diplomacy. Discuss the matter and point out the negative aspects while at the same time keeping an open mind as to the reasons they offer for their position.

You might find there is more to it than meets the eye. Maybe bigger plans are in the works, or favourable changes are going to take place. Don't jump to conclusions; always know the facts before you make a stand. You will gain the respect of both your boss and your coworkers.

Volunteering a little of your time to work related community programs will also go a long way in establishing your reputation as a team player with a heart. It's also a great opportunity to show your faith. Love in action speaks louder than a mouth full of well wishes.

You have the power with God's help to change your circumstances in any situation. If you will apply yourself accordingly you will succeed. I would say, if you want people to be nice to you be nice to them, be sincere, use true love.. it can be felt..forgive & forget.. you shld be able to get away with all..

Christmas presents

Dear Diary,

Goodness.. 2 days to Christmas... Time flies...Have you done all your Christmas Shopping as yet?? Bought all the presents for your loved ones??

If you haven't already done so, and have no idea what to buy, well let me help you with quick summary of what is appropriate...

For Kids/Children:

That's easy! I would suggest some story books which is more constructive...Otherwise of course you can get them some toys... Depends on what they like... Can also get some PC games...Kids nowadays love them..

For Ladies:

Not too difficult I guess for the man to buy.. You can practically find lots of things you can get for your mum/ your wife or your girlfriend..

Some accessories would do fine...

A touch of Fragrance wld work well too...

This is one of my favorite...RL (Romance)

Or how about some handbags or wallets???

Other than that you can also get them some aromatherapy gifts sets or some gifts sets for body... U can easily get them from shopping centres such as the body shop if you don't wanna spend too much.. They aren't too expensive...

If you are really that tight on budget and still think that all the above are simply too too expensive.. well.. Get her some soft toys that says I love you when u squeeze the tum tum.. Or simply some lovey dovey stuff... That shld be enough to make her happy... However.. Do take note that...This will only work for young gals most of the time.... I doubt my mum wld want that from my dad.. She wld probably say, waste of money.. Ha.. Get what I mean.. The age group matters... I suggest for working ladies, get them some fragrance or shower gifts sets etc if you don't wanna spend too much... Think that wld work perfect enough.

Flowers somehow always do the trick too.. though it's not that worst for money...it's expensive and doesn't last..

For him:
A little tacky... I usually think getting guys presents are the toughest.. More like tough because what guys want are usually expensive... It's not like we dunno wat our guys want.. Or what my daddy wants.. but it's usually out of budget... More often, we get them something quite the same as last year or it's simply just not something that they want.. and they had to forced a smile and pretend to look surprise at the gifts and exclaimed.. "O my god.. I love it!" So fake..HATE to see that.. when they obviously don't like the present and try to make us happy and not make the joyous season turn sour.... Good effort guys.. so gals.. make your little effort... spend a little more on their presents... after all.. they deserved something better with all the nice movies and romantic dinners they treated you right?

If you have spare cash and has got budget for an expensive present for the well deserved one.. I suggest you can get some gagets...

You can get them... Camera, PDA, phones... anything along the line.. for cheaper range you can get them some USB, MP3 etc.. I bet they wld love it...
If your man is working...

Some nice shirts & ties wld do fine... I think it's practical...and reasonable...

If your budget is that tight.. some nice cufflinks might work...

If your guy has got enough ties or he doesn't really like putting a tie on to work.. then.. how about some nice fragrance for him as well.. I like guys that has got some nice scent on them.. I think just as much as guys like gals to smell sweet and nice.. girls like their guys to smell manly and cool.. it attracts both ways..I personally recommend Davidoff- Cool water and Hugo boss...

if he smokes then a nice lighter wld suit him well.. but that goes to say you are encouraging him to smoke... You will give him the excuse to smoke more...
hmm.. Certainly not something I would like to give...

What about a money clip??? It's not that expensive.. and I think it's pretty cool.. Especially if your HIM is working and has got to meet clients often... makes him look kinda Pro with some tint of status there...

TO make things simple...A pen would do it well.. pen's prices varies quite a bit so you can jolly well buy one that matches u budget... geez... The Mont blanc pen reminds me that I owe my junior one.. Goodness.. that's going to burn a hole in my pocket.. haha...

There are also alot of other alternatives, if you fins pens too common....

if He's a soccer fan... This wld make him happy enough..

collage5
Such as watches, organizers, books of his interest..PC games..wallets...lots and lots..

For dads, I usually get him a bottle of wine.. Ha.. =p

So much on gifts... U beta head on shopping for it now before too late... Okie it's getting really late..have got work tml..gotta pen off before my mum starts nagging at me again...Have fun shopping and dun forget my share.. wahhaha... =p

All About Christmas

Dear Diary,

Since Christmas is round the corner, allow me to 'educate' you or rather tell you everything you wanna know about Christmas...

The word "Christmas" means "Mass of Christ," or, as it came to be shortened, "Christ-Mass." It came to the modern world from the Roman Catholic Church. They, in turn, got it not from the Bible, but from paganism.

"Christmas was not among the earliest festivals of the Church . . . The first evidence of the feast is from Egypt." "Pagan customs centering around the January calends [the pagan calendar] gravitated to Christmas."--Catholic Encyclopedia, 1911 ed., article: "Christmas."

Origen, an early Catholic writer, said this about celebrating birthdays in the Bible:

"In the Scriptures, no one is recorded to have kept a feast or held a great banquet on his [Christ's] birthday. It is only sinners [like Pharaoh or Herod] who make great rejoicings over the day in which they were born into this world."--Catholic Encyclopedia, 11th ed., art: "Natal Day."

How did Christmas start?

Yes, where did Christmas come from? It did not begin at the birth of Christ; it began earlier! The December 25 celebration had nothing to do with His birth. It is an interesting story; one I think you will be interested in.
Since about 400 AD, Christians have celebrated the birth of Jesus. 'Christ' means 'Messiah' or 'Anointed One' - the title given to Jesus - and 'Mass' was a religious festival.

In the West today, the real meaning of Christmas is often forgotten. It has become a non-religious holiday! More children believe in Father Christmas than in Jesus. Christmas Day is a time for eating and drinking too much and watching television.

But the real Christmas story is found in the Christian Bible. It is told in two different books:
Matthew and Luke chapters 1 and 2. If you have no Bible, you can read these chapters online. You may think that the story of the birth of Jesus, and the way that the West celebrates Christmas today, do not seem to have many connections.

Mary says "yes"

Marry

Arrival in Bethlehem brought worry and upset: there was no room for them to stay at the hotel. There was only space in the stable - the animal house for travellers' donkeys and horses.

Marry

Jesus was born that night, and as they had no bed for him, they used an animal feeding box filled with the dry grass the animals ate.

Christmas cards and pictures today make it all seem very nice. In truth, it must have been dirty and frightening for a young couple, far from their home and families. Possibly the birth was premature after the stress of the journey. This was a very poor place for Jesus to start his life on earth.

God's plan?

Christians believe that it was exactly God's plan that things happened this way. They say that it shows that Jesus came as a humble, poor person and not as a strong, rich king. They also claim that the birth of Jesus was told many years before in the books of the prophets.

Five hundred years before, the prophet Micah had said,

"But you Bethlehem, though you are small, out of you will come for me, one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times."

The prophet Isaiah had written,

"A child is born to us! A son is given to us! And he will be our ruler.
He will be called, "Wonderful Counsellor," "Mighty God," "Eternal Father," "Prince of Peace." His royal power will continue to grow; his kingdom will always be at peace.... He will rule as King David's successor, basing his power on right and justice, from now until the end of time."

These are only two of many prophetic words that told of the birth and life of Jesus, written hundreds of years before His birth.

The shepherds are frightened

Marry

At that time, sheep farmers were seen by other people as low and of no value. Yet it was to these shepherds that the birth of Jesus was first announced in an amazing dramatic way:

"That night there were some men looking after sheep in the fields nearby.

Suddenly they saw a great light. It was an angel, who said,
'Don't be afraid. I have good news for you, and for all people. Someone great has been born today. He is Christ, the great King you have been waiting for. He will save you from all that is wrong and evil. You will find him dressed in baby clothes, lying on a bed of dry grass.'"

The story of the wise men

After Jesus was born, wise men came to look for Him, from an area which is now in either Iran or Saudi Arabia. Although they are often called the "Three Kings", the Bible does not say how many there were, or that they were kings. Three is only a guess because they brought with them three gifts.
Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh

They were certainly men of learning - probably today we would call them philosophers or scientists. They had seen an unusual new star in the sky, and knew that it told of the birth of a special king. (The star they saw was probably a exploding "supernova" and is known from astronomical records.) They followed the direction of the star- East - and eventually found the place where Mary, Joseph and Jesus were staying. To bring honour to the child, they brought rich gifts: gold, frankincense (a resin which burns with a beautiful smell), and myrrh (plant oil with a very strong sweet smell). These gifts tell us in pictures three key things about Jesus:

Gold: a gift fit for a King
Frankincense: burnt in worship of God
Myrrh: a sign of mortal human-ness - it was used to bury the dead

Jesus a refugee
Herod, the evil king of the area, heard about the child, saw Him as a threat, and sent soldiers to kill Jesus. But God told Joseph in a dream to take Mary and the baby and escape to Egypt. They lived there till King Herod died and then went back to live in Nazareth. We read nothing more about the life of Jesus, except for one story when he was 12, until He reached 30. By the way - note one important thing: Jesus was not a white European, and Christianity is not a Western religion. Christmas cards from different countries often show Mary, Joseph and Jesus in the landscape of that country, and with the racial appearance of that nationality, be it black African, Indian, or Japanese. This is good and right - Jesus came to identify with every racial group. He is "Everyman" for us all.

The end of the story?
Here is a newspaper cartoon printed some years ago, showing Father Christmas reading the Christmas story to a child. "But how did it end?" the child asks. Behind them, you can see the Cross (execution pole) on which Jesus was killed at the age of 33.

Jesus was indeed "the man born to die". But that was not the end of the story. It is still going on, and you can be part of the story, if you wish.

"But how did it end?"
with permission: courtesyThe Guardian/Observer
No other person has had such an effect on human lives as Jesus. He came back to life again, and millions say they know Him today as a friend and helper in their lives. You owe it to yourself to find out more about Him. Is He who He claimed to be? Can He help us in our lives today? You have nothing to lose! Christmas is the time to stop and think about these important questions.

The old man with the sack - Who is he??

'Father Christmas' (or 'Santa Claus') has become the human face of Christmas. Pictures will be seen everywhere of the old man with long white beard, red coat, and bag of toys. Children are taught that he brings them presents the night before Christmas (or in some countries on December 6th - St. Nicholas' Day), and many children up to the age of 7 or 8 really believe this is true. In most countries, it is said that he lives near the North Pole, and arrives through the sky on a sledge (snow-cart) pulled by reindeer. He comes into houses down the chimney at midnight and places presents for the children in socks or bags by their beds or in front of the family Christmas tree.

In shops or at children's parties, someone will dress up as Father Christmas and give small presents to children, or ask them what gifts they want for Christmas. Christmas can be a time of magic and excitement for children.

Father Christmas is based on a real person, St. Nicholas, which explains his other name 'Santa Claus' which comes from the Dutch 'Sinterklaas'. Nicholas was a Christian leader from Myra (in modern-day Turkey) in the 4th century AD. He was very shy, and wanted to give money to poor people without them knowing about it. It is said that one day, he climbed the roof of a house and dropped a purse of money down the chimney. It landed in the stocking which a girl had put to dry by the fire! This may explain the belief that Father Christmas comes down the chimney and places gifts in children's stockings.

The Myth & story and Father Christmas:

Once upon a time, when no-one was looking and the world was very young, it was a place full of magic ?of elves and gnomes and dragons and all sorts of other enchanted things. The North Pole however, wasn't so very different from what it is now. It was icy and desolate and nobody much wanted to live there because it was so cold. There was one fairy there though, (because there's usually at least one fairy everywhere my dears!), and she was called Snowstar. She was rather an unusual fairy to tell the truth, because she wasn't flesh and bone like you, her whole body was made up of starlight and when she danced across the dark snowy ground and in-between the mountains each night, she looked just like a shooting star.

Mind you, although Snowstar was happy in the North Pole, she was also rather lonely because she had no-one to talk to. She talked to herself of course, but that can get boring after a while, so she started making people to talk to, out of snow. They were a lot like snowmen ?the sort of things you might build yourself on a cold winter day ?only they were much better than the ones you and I would make, because Snowstar was a very clever sculptress and made them look real. She enjoyed making them so much that she made hundreds and hundreds, all shapes and sizes, then she would dance between them singing and laughing and chattering away to her hearts content. (But of course none of them ever sang or laughed or chattered back.)

Bit by bit, Snowstar began to tire of her snow people and feel unhappy again. Then, one night when she was feeling particularly lonely, she decided to cheer herself up by making the best, most lifelike snowman she possibly could. I shall make him an old, old man,?she thought, with the kindest face you've ever seen and a jolly smile to cheer up the saddest corners of the earth.?

Excited, she set to work at once. She began by gathering snow from the all over the North Pole. Did you think that snow was all the same colour my dears? Well, you were wrong! It depends on where you get it from. Snowstar knew this, so first she went to the mountain tops at sunset, where the snow was deep red. With this colour, I'll make him some fine red clothes!?she said to herself and filled her fairy bucket full of it straight away.

Now, here I have to tell you something else. Snowstar didn't know it, but as she filled her bucket up she wasn't quite as alone as she thought. She was being watched. By the Great Fire Dragon, the king of all dragons, who was looking down from his realm in the sun. Hello?!?he crackled to himself, What's this? A little fairy pinching the snow lit up so beautifully! I wonder what she wants it for.? So he yawned like a big furnace and left his home to follow Snowstar and see what she was up to.

Next, Snowstar went in search of the right snow to make the snowman's boots and buttons. She climbed into deep dark caves at midnight, where the snow was blackest black. What she didn't realize however, was that down there in those very caves, Mother Earth (who you might have heard of) was taking her winter nap.

Unfortunately, the starlight that shone from Snowstar woke her up.
My Goodness!?muttered Mother Earth, all of a fluster, Right? Is it spring already? I must have overslept!? When she realised that the light was only a small fairy she calmed down, but decided to join the Great Fire Dragon and follow her as well.

For the snowman's eyes, Snowstar decided sparkling blue would be the best colour, so she swam down into the ocean and found some beautiful blue ice. However, little did she know that the very piece of ice she wanted was actually part of somebody's house! That somebody was the Waterwatcher, a magical lady who nobody much has heard of up here, but who is in charge of all the lakes, rivers and seas in the world. She happened to be taking a break in her icy holiday home in the seas of the North Pole, because she had been working very hard all year and needed peace and relaxation and somewhere without too many fish. When she heard someone breaking bits off her house, she came rushing outside to chase them away. Luckily for Snowstar, the Great Fire Dragon and Mother Earth stopped her and persuaded her to join them.

How I need snow so fresh and white that it hasn't touched the ground!? thought Snowstar. So she flew up into the sky and scooped some fresh snow from a cloud. As she put it in her fairy bucket the North Wind, who happened to be whistling by, caught sight of her.

This is most puzzling!?he puffed as he watched her take off with her newly gathered snow. It must blow down to the ground and see what's happening!? So he too joined the others and followed Snowstar back to her snowman.

They all watched as she made him hair and a long, soft beard, so white that it shone. Finally, she put some of her own starlight in his blue eyes and stood back to view her work. It was wonderful! I wish he were real!?the little fairy breathed.

My Goodness!?murmured Mother Earth as they all surveyed the snowman. That a beautiful creation!?that a pity he's not real,?said the Waterwatcher, such a kind, jolly, round face. The world could do with a person like that!?

The North Wind looked thoughtful, then whispered, You know, I had seen this fairy before, dancing and singing about the friends she had like to have. And now look at her, wishing with all her heart that her snowman was alive! I do believe she's lonely. What do you say we grant her wish??

It's a long time since I had been in the habit of granting wishes,?mumbled the Waterwatcher.
That's because you spend too much time surrounded by nothing but fish!?laughed the Great Fire Dragon. I say we should do it!?

But if we make him real, what will he do??asked Mother Earth. I mean everyone must have something to do in the world.?

I know!?blew the North Wind suddenly, since it's Christmas next week, let's give him the job of bringing Christmas presents to children. All the children in the world.? The others agreed and so it was decided. They collected together all their powers and cast them at the snowman.

To her utter amazement, Snowstar saw the snowman blink. Then he saw his smile get bigger and bigger until it turned into a laugh. Ho, ho, ho!?laughed the snowman, who was a snowman no longer. He gave Snowstar a big hug and she felt that he was warm and alive. She had never been so happy in all her life! The two became best friends and as far as I know they are still are. Snowstar is one of Father Christmas's most important helpers, she no longer makes snowmen, she helps the elves make toys. And he delivers them.

So that's how Father Christmas came to be. You see my dears, he really is from the snow and ice of the North Pole, in fact he was made of it!

ok enough of Xmas... gtg.. tata

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Carried it for more than 15 years.. Finally this day has arrived..

Phew.. It was so much of a relief... Finally...I have accomplish my task. I'm simply on cloud nine... One moment I was trembling till my speech slurred... The next moment I'm jumping around in office..

Wanna share my joys...The good news... With my bestest friends... Then I recall they are all not in Singapore, though I cant call them to tell them the news I SMSed them... My 3 buddies (Jimmy, HY and Acez) and 2 brothers (Robin & CK) then Boss...

Just as my mood was dampened at the thought that I cant share my joy with my buddies personally... Suddenly Jimmy called.. cuz he's in SG... Despite his busy schedule he gripped some time to call and chat with me.. afterwhich I gotta reply from Robin who was in Poland and it was 5am when I smsed him..He even offered to help me get a position in BSI...

Then out of the blue I got another surprise call...Hengyong called all the way from Shanghai...I was so so happy that I was almost talking so loudly that the entire building can hear me.. Hahaha..n best even Acez called from France and talked for at least half an hr when it was say 5am there too, missing his precious sleep (He's a pig so sleep is extremely important to him)... And guess wat, Acez promise to send me a present from France if I get a perm job.. I'm So motivated now.. hahah.. Goodness I was so so touched... Felt so so loved by my bestest buddies... they called me as soon as they get my msg... to share my joy..They are the one always there for me.. happy or sad.. ups and downs.. there to give me encouragement... shower me with lots of love...

This is indeed the best present I received so far.. My happiest moment.. With a bunch of cool buddies with me, What more can I ask for... Thanks pals.. Can't imagine life without u guys... u guys are the BEST!! Love u all always and miss u guys.. hope to see u guys back soon...

What are they ordering in the Kopitiam (Coffeeshop)?

Dear Diary,

You are sitting at one of the coffeeshop or hawkers and often you will hear the uncle/auntie selling drinks shouting out some terms placing orders. This scene shouldn't be too rare to Singaporeans but not all understand what the aunites and uncles are saying thinking that must be their secret code or something. Well as a matter of fact, this is a "universal language" or terms used across all the coffeeshops and hawkers in SINGAPORE. haha... even in some parts of Malaysia (provided the person selling is non-malay).

I was out with a fren from germany and he asked curiously, "Didn't i ordered for ice-milo? The auntie said 'Pa Q- Peng', did the aunite place the wrong order?"

I just laugh heartedly and explained that they are saying it in Hokkien and in their 'secret' code.

Decided to reveal this 'mystery language'

So What are they ordering in the Kopitiam (Coffeeshop)?

Teh - Tea with condensed milk (no sugar needed)
Teh-O - Tea with sugar, without milk
Teh-C - Tea with evaporated milk. The C here means the "Carnation" brand of evaporated milk.
Teh-Peng - Teh with ice.
Teh-packet - Teh "Take-away"
Kopi - Coffee with condensed milk (no sugar needed)
Kopi-O - Coffee with sugar, without milk
Kopi-C - Coffee with evaporated milk. The C here means the "Carnation" brand of evaporated milk.
Kopi-Peng - Kopi with ice.
Kopi-bao/(packet) - Kopi "Take-away"
Kopi-gao - Thick Kopi (less water)
Kopi-siu-dai - Kopi (coffee) with less sugar

Kopi-Ko-Song- Kopi (coffee) without sugar
Diao-he (Means Fishing in Hokkien) - Chinese tea ('cuz in tea bag form = fishing)
Pa-Q (Hitting ball in Hokkien) - Milo ('cuz the Milo tins are usually painted with pictures of atheletes playing ball games)
Dinosaur- Thick Iced Milo (With additional scoop of Milo powder on top of ice Milo) : Taste great but sinful hee

p/s: U can change the Kopi-peng or Kopi-gao etc to Teh -Peng or Milo-Peng etc just replace the Kopi at the front to your prefered beverages then 'peng' for ice and 'gao' meaning thick etc...

Ok so far that's all i can think of, if you guys know of more then i'll add to the list.

I love beautiful things and ones impression matters to me so I rate my frenz based on the 2 criteria. It sounds shallow but it's important my frenz know how to make themselves presentable cuz impression counts. I'm not pretty yet I feel it's important to leave a good impression with great attitude.

I chose my frenz. chose who i go out with and I'm particular. I guess I'm not lack of frenz but i draw clear line the "category" of fren they are in. Nonetheless, I'm lucky to have many truthful ones...
